Interesting Quote...

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'

Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin (1802)

Vote early! Vote often!

Voting has begun for the Southern Heritage Music Awards.

Last year's winner of Vintage Album of the Year, Carl Peterson, has been nominated again!

The first round of voting takes place from 2 October until 2 November. You can place a vote once every day. The top five from each category will continue to the second round of voting, where the winner's will be decided. Vote Here!

Carl Peterson's album Songs of the South: Bagpipes and Banjos has been nominated (again) for Vintage Album of the Year. Many songs of the American South came from Scotland and Ireland with the immigrants of the 1700's and 1800's. The tunes were kept and new words were written. On this album Carl Peterson sings these songs, as well as some truly American songs, accompanied by the cross-cultural sounds of bagpipes and banjos. You can read more about, and listen to samples of, this album Here.
